Ordering 2 batteries is a wise choice. As the power and ability of the system improves, the power drain increases. Active Matrix screens, more memory and faster processors all take their toll on battery life.

If DELL didn't recommend the second battery, we would be the first to complain that the battery life was too short! Even with the new power management systems, battery powered computers still are living on the edge. (imho - btw, I have a notebook, and battery life gets 'real' crappy after a few years! My unit [not DELL], I can't get the batteries anymore. Last price over $100!)
