rillinois, i like bob's macro analysis. personally, i think he's been very lucky with some of his market calls. i believe there is a decent chance he is a closet momentum investor and that he may be caught off guard when the tide turns. i've seen gurus turn to flakes almost over night before. but, i don't know this and will reserve judgement.

however, my definition of "spin" includes highlighting negative information while ignoring the big picture in general and the positives in specific.

bob has made bad calls. i would have vigorously disagreed with his assessment of the semi equipment players. if he is neutral or positive now then we disagree now. not by a little, but by a lot. i see amat in the low teens over the next 12 months. maybe single digits. i may buy puts shortly. i own puts on micron tech.

however, pouncing on the negatives and ignoring the positives (not having the actual wording is not a very good reason to at least not highlight some of the positives, imho).

bob is not investment god. but he does give pretty sound investment philosophical advice and seems to have done pretty well when all his investments are taken in CONTEXT. you don't represent his advice in context - at least i haven't heard you do it yet. that is why some take issue with you. slectively reporting FACTS is still disingenuine, imho, and is a type of SPIN in my mind.

good luck. your point that bob is not a market seer (sp?) is well taken. following his advice does mean one assumes certain risks.

Brinker recommended MSFT, VOD and UTEK in Marketimer.
Microsoft is up over 2000%
Vodafone is up over 500%
UTEK has another year to perform so the jury is out.

Brinker never recommended any of the other stocks you
post about in Marketimer. Marketimer is the only place
in the world Brinker makes official stock recommendations.
For you to waste your time talking about stocks mentioned
on a TV appearance is absurd. These were never recommened
in Marketimer, therefore they are not Marketimer recommendations.
So you talk of UTEK and then totally ignore MSFT and VOD.
You are the all time spin doctor. Your credibility is now zero.
