Pal: Re 25,000 puts ( actually many more)

<<<<Anyone see this in WSJ on Dell puts today?>>>
The only argument I see for that purchase is for insurance
against a total disaster. For example , someone who had 200k shares
in 1996 now has 1.6 mil worth 145 mil. Spends $5 mil on insurance
when he is up way over 100 mil.
I think Dell would be very happy to sell those puts.
The somewhat higher strike prices appear to be a much better bargain, but the 55 was the cheapest put available, and he is
not protecting against minor tankage, its life insurance.
Anyone "buying" this??(hehehehe)
