Paul: L.D. did state "very high volume." I suppose he mean's that by then all lines will be running at some sort of maximum level, on as many shifts as necessary. The implication is that to be able to support this type of running mode VLNC will have completed contract negotiations sometime between now and end of 3rd qrtr(that's just my guess), and be providing, as per L.D.'s June 30th comment, some sort of limited mass manufacturing capability. In fact it appears that VLNC's history of dashing investor expectations by failing to meet publically commented timeframes has just been broken? I'd hazard a guess and say it's pretty clear they'll be running at that limited rate by June 30th, and I point to his "N.I. will be up and running in 3 week" as proof of that guess. Be that as it may, I just spent the last 6 hours in, and out, of airports. And as is always the case when you have time to kill I started to mull over the implications. Fact: Although the competition has been making announcements of all sorts, only VLNC has now announced clear capability to mass produce in the VERY near timeframe, indeed their statements around this issue all boil down to the marketing aspects of the finished product. So basically, despite L.D.'s precautionary closing R&D statement, VLNC is now migrating from a strict R&D shop to a commercial production operation. As such it will need to become market driven/focused with alllll the risks inherent in that process. However, when you have a product of "significance" with buyer's so eager they're willing to take(I didn't get the impression that VLNC had to beg someone to test them) your first limited runs and test them to high heaven, I'd say your risks are minimal. Of course while they're testing them you, as said business person, are praying they don't uncover something you missed! ;-) And when they come back saying they like it.....why you just casually mention....."oh, by the way, that product you like????? We've just SIGNIFICANTLY improved it!" Woooo hoooo, you don't think that will catch their attention? Ah well, just some casual thoughts generated on a long flight home....say, speaking of long flights, I wonder if part of their improvements would be the attainment of that battery manufacturer holy grail, a one charge, coast to coast battery? Wouldn't that be sumthing, eh? Regards! John~ PS: I'll be adjust my buy zone tomorrow, but I first want to see how things shape up since by then all this information will be sinking in....my impression is VLNC will have a positive bias going forward for the remainder of the year...with periodic retrenchments along the way....by the way....does anyone think VLNC's floor has moved up significantly, what with today's volume(this despite MM machinations)?
