Stitch: Just got a chance to read FEER.

The piece is titled...

Mixed Signals
Dynamic duo relays conflicting economic messages.

feer.com

Seems people thought Mahatir had acquiesced, turned-over the economic reigns to his finance minister. Then it appears while Anwar was away in New York, Dr. M. began making policy changes.

In the hardcopy edition there is also a review of Hidden Agenda -- a book which features Dr. M. laying-out the under-handed activities of the West in SEAsian markets and politics. They titled the piece Read It and Weep.

There's also a priceless photo in the magazine copy.

Dr. M and Anwar are seated next to one another at desktop computers. Dr. M., hands in his lap, appears to be monitoring on his unit what Anwar is doing. Either that, or he's just taken a direct hit on his battleship. Anwar is still operational, one hand on the mouse...and a smirk on his face. A smirk!

It gets better. (I've got to clip this one for the archives.)

Standing behind the Dynamic Duo, all of the spectators but two -- one behind Mahatir, one behind Anwar -- have their faces cropped-out of the photo. The fellow behind Anwar seems interested or involved in what the finance minister is doing. The gentleman looking over Dr. M.'s shoulder appears very concerned.

Photo journalism?

I don't believe Dr. M. is going to appreciate this one.
