If we extrapolate data from mice, ENMD will need 2g of angiostatin/day/patient. You can reasonably get 20 g of protein from 1000 l fermenter in 2 days. To inject 2g off bacterially produce protein/day in humans and do not induce anafialactic shock it shouldd be purified at least to 99.9% purity. I think at this rate several month treatment will cost more than 100 000$(just prduction costs). The conclusion: unless ENMD will find out how this proteines work and find more active components they will have hard time produce enough protein even for clinical trials.
