Truman, Your story seems quite plausible. But at the same time that Xerox is trying to retain and hire certain employees, it recently announced a reduction in force program that targets 10,000 jobs worldwide with incentives as large as a year's salary for long service employees. It is trying to selectively change the job force mix. I believe that Intel recently announced reductions as have other Silicon Valley companies. Companies seem to be realizing that it is easier to restructure during a good economy rather than when they did last time during weaker times. -- Alan
