If the resignation of Suharto proves to be the turning point for the SE Asian economies (their bourses are doing their darndest to support that concept tonight), then it may also prove to be the turning point in our stock market away from the megacaps, S&P 500, the "new nifty 50", etc. and back into the techs including the semis. Our economy will start to heat further as the recovering Asians buy more, plus gradual removal of the disinflation forces of cheap imports will force AG to raise rates. Also, less liquidity will leave SEA for our markets.
Just wishful thinking on my part.
