Jacob,

As a start, things need to be simple and consistent.

You make things a lot worse by requiring use of a different environment for doing every thing. For example looking at files on your PC vs. looking at similar files on a network. Yet the DOJ proposes that these are entirely different actions and that the net browser should be distinct. I disagree.

As to the rest, I think there should be a lot more idiot proofing. Win95/98 doesn't support this. WinNT (which will form the basis of the future MS operating systems) allows the machine to be idiot proofed a lot more.

Software maintenance over the net is something we look at repeatedly as well.
