All, and interesting excerpt from an article that sheds light on the future of the wired world:

Business Editors/Computers & Electronics Writers

BERLIN--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 20, 1998--Companies that are
successful in the future will tie together the Internet, Intranet and
Extranet to do business with their customers, Chuck Martin, author of
the New York Times business best-seller "The Digital Estate," told
the nearly 300 attendees of Unisys Airline Users Association
conference here Wednesday.
In the keynote address entitled "Net Future: The Seven Dynamics That Will Change Everything," Martin said electronic business is not just about buying products on the Internet but conducting business to business through Intranets and Extranets. In the wired future, business will be designed around customers rather than product.
"E Business is really driving your core business end to end," Martin said. "Technology is coming that lets your customers tell you in real time what to do and when to do it."
Martin listed the seven dynamics of change as: Cyber economy goes main street; wired workforce; customer becomes data; open book corporate emerges; product commoditization; move to real-time learning; and experience communities emerge.
