Greg, George, and Ronald,

Thanks for the excellent effort along with Craig S.' visit to Ancor last week. Seems like their was a consensus among you that this is a management team and corporate structure that has at least put Ancor in a position to succeed. We would all like to see revenues today but until the product and the FC industry is in full tilt, this seems unrealistic, to those not happy with the numbers and thus the speculating will go on which makes the ANCR board a great discussion place.
As far as the BOD goes. It would be great to see them buy into the company but some of these guys belong to multiple BOD's and don't feel obligated to own stock in every company they sit on the board.
ANCR just might benefit more from the expertise, contacts and consulting from these members, then the financial compensation that ANCR pays them.I have to admit that I really don't know what their compensation is but will try to find out today. Somehow, I doubt they are getting rich sitting on the ANCR board. To me the more relevant question is ANCR getting good value in what they pay for in Board members. Much more interested in having ANCR management add to their positions and in some cases initiate a position in addition to their options.
Craig S. - Your opinion of what is a fair valuation for ANCR sits in Cal's Corner. Your opinion is that ANCR is worth about 100 million today.I think the closer we get to FC OEM's and the size of the FC industry becomes clear, that valuation will head north. 3rd quarter for 1998 only about 40 days away.

thanks guys, Ed

Board meeting,Scraps II
-apparently Brocade has the circuit boards for the silkworm done by
MSL in minneapolis, but then the boards are shipped to calif to be put
together. Ancor has MSl do the whole thing according to Craig's report
from his meeting last week with Ancor people.
-staff turnover is still way below industry standards, although Ken did
say that they lost one person due to "traffic in Minneapolis". I could
not tell whether the problem was too much or too little.
-the best question not asked or answered was the concerning the product
mentioned by IBM in the magazine article,(wasn't that an ethernet to fc
bridge?). I think Ken said that new products were not introduced at an
annual mtg, does anyone have a notion of the next good opportunity
for the Co. to introduce a new product?
- I don't think that the co really thinks that their location here in
Minn hurts re sales to OEM's , for example, Paul Pasqua pointed out that
when he was with Zytec they were a leading supplier to Cisco even though
they were located here, and some of their competitors were located
right next to Cisco.
-Ancor's mkII has self configuring ports unlike the competition. Finally
something a layman can understand. It does not matter where you plug in
the back , you can not make a mistake, the switch will figure out what is
needed or wanted at that port.
-there is no doubt in my mind that at this time Ancor personnel think
that Brocade is their only competition, not to say anything about what real comp
etitors might pop up in the future.
-I also felt that the Ancor people think that in time the market for
this stuff,i.e. fc switches, will be really big. This is my interpretation
of what little I could pick up .
In summary, as Ken said the company was confident that they would win
their share of the storage OEMs, but as Paul Pasqua said "the art is
winning the right ones"
