you can make a living trading stocks, providing that you are disciplined and aware of the risks, not putting ALL of your capital in @ once is a smart and safe way to play.
also allows for margin calls and such if in fact you do miss a day or end up getting caught in the wrong direction. most wall street pro traders use other people's money..
that's just the way it is.. i ain't saying that they don't pony up their own, but their real $$ comes in from making money trading for others. i personally know some comm. traders--75% of their trades are for themselves,and the balance is for clients... which pays their costs and such. so what they earn is pure profit or loss..
the other trades pay for their seat, etc...
like being a pro dice thrower.. i don't envy them except when they are long coffee and the world freezes over...
