Anyone wants to guess the use of VRD as a camera?

Could it be used to take picture of a small area, such as during surgery, thanks to the precision of the fine laser beam? To take picture of a large area or a far away object, it would be impossible since the laser beam has to scan the large area and the camera has to be able to receive the reflection.

VRD used for TV. That's a good application.
