>>>I repeat, from a technology and capabilities perspective, NAV 4.0 does not come close to IE 4.0, hence your assertions seem to be invalid.<<<

I have the latest Nav and I have IE4.

1. I use Nav because it doesn't hose up my system settings as much (I recently bought one new machine with win95 sr2.5 oem installed mostly because I could not undo what IE seemed to have done, although what hosed it up might have been the direct X 5 install I did at the same time. Not even reinstalling windows worked for me that time.)

2. I use Nav because it has real Java, not MSFTs version.

3. I use Nav now also because the open source policy is resulting in many useful fixes in a very short time, somewhat to my surprise. That is working out very well.

4. I use Nav because all websites except those of a few crazy microphiles support it. On my own web site I find that if I design for Nav nobody else has much of a problem with it. Unlike active-x controls and the like. And I don't even use the Netscape servers, but still have no problem designing for and with Navigator / Communicator.

You are not going to catch me doing something stupid like using the latest Excel codes so that my customers with excel 97 can't read and use all of my site.

Cheers,
Chaz
