DS, While it is 'true' on the DELL BULL thread here, there is a lot of prompting the market to go higher. But, it is my belief, that if all of the stock in DELL, that all of the DELL BULLS hold was added together, it would amount to a SMALL fraction of a Mutual Fund that was 'taking a position' in DELL. What do we see, let's say 100 'active' posters (lots of BULLS - ya' know the BUY and HOLD types, been riding for a long time!), now if I read their posts accurately, they ain't sellin' - ever. They just keep buying, whenever they can! Now they are 'fully invested', and while they hold as much stock as they can, there is not a lot of 'new money' available to them. You can hear 'whine', "I'm gonna' mortgage my house!", "Can somebody lend me some money!", you've heard 'em all. Let's say that is 1/3 of the 'bunch'. Now we have the BEARs! They aren't holding any shares, but continually are 'making the market' by 'selling short' or working in 'options' trying to 'glean' every extra 'cent' through leverage. So what happens, IMHO, is that the BEARs keep 'playing musical chairs' with a limited number of shares. Well, when the price is 'down' a BULL will find a 'couple-a-bucks' and buys some shares. When the options expire, then there is a 'scramble' to cover, driving the price up by a 'few' taking profits! Wait until the DELL holders decide NOT TO SELL, the 'shorts' will really be that! How do you 'buy' a stock to cover your 'short' if nobody sell? Hypothetically, you short 1000 shs at 100 for 100K. If your 'short' is called, and you can't cover, you go 'bust'! Not a pretty picture! (One of the Railroad tycoons did this to another early in our history!) Anyway, let's say 1/3 here too! The last third are just reading the thread. Now, I probably have this wrong, but as I see it, it is the BEARs that are driving the stock up by all of their effort to pick up a little change instead of investing LONG. Like I say, I'm probably all 'wet'. -- Or am I? Regards, Ken
