CANAL FULTON, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 21, 1998--Valley Systems Inc., listed on the Nasdaq Stock Market (NASDAQ:VALE - news), today announced that the company has been chosen to be the primary provider of vacuum and hydroblasting services to all of the FirstEnergy Corp. [NYSE:FE - news] power generation plants. FirstEnergy, a diversified energy services holding company headquartered in Akron, Ohio, was formed by the 1997 merger of Ohio Edison Co. and Centerior Energy Corp. FirstEnergy's four utility operating companies -- Ohio Edison, its subsidiary Pennsylvania Power, The Illuminating Company, and Toledo Edison -- comprise the nation's 12th largest investor-owned electric system. Valley Systems had previously provided hydroblasting services to the Ohio Edison and Pennsylvania Power plants. The new contract, which begins in June 1998 and lasts for three years, will provide an estimated $3 million of additional revenues to Valley Systems annually.
