RE: Wouldn't whisper numbers always be higher than consensus?

This is something that varies from stock to stock and quarter to quarter.
I believe that Expactions and actual events has a great impact on a stocks movement.

If MD had said 35-40 cents, the stock surely would have gotten killed, But after that and a report of 44, the stock is not sure thing to rally.
Once roney runners get a bad taste in their mouths, they tend to move on.
DELL the company will do will and should be around for a long time to come. That does not gurantee that it's stock will be the greatest for much longer.

Look at what the stock is doing in reaction to the report.
It was a good report.
The stock was extended.
It was/is time for a pullback.
Is this a normal pullback, Or is ther a real change in some big holders thoughts on the future potential of the STOCK ?
This question takes time to answer. Until then, I think we all were a little disapointed with the release.
The bulls barely got what they wanted and mised on the whisper, but on the contrary, the Bears got nothing to really sink their claws into, and the stock is selling off a little.

Whisper numbers in dell's case are always higher. If the number was lower, the stock would reflect that going into the report.
Some stocks go down expecting much worse than Ests. When the report is better, the stocks reacts. I can not think of any reciently right off hand, but I am sure you have seen it if you have been around for a while.
