Some large trades came through late in the day (around 200K shares in the last hour, or 20% of the day's total volume):

Time........Price Change.......Volume

2:55..........-1 7/8...........819.7K
3:38..........-1 3/4...........920.2K
3:52..........-1 3/8...........975.9K
4:00..........-1 1/4.........1,016.3K

The lion's share of the last 40K shares was purchased at market (or the ask) evidenced by the ask rising from 27 7/8 at 3:52 to 28 1/8 at the close.

I am not one of these market maker conspiracy theorists but how many times have you seen analysts use their upgrades to get clients out near the top and their downgrades to cheapen a stock for their clients. Afterall, this analyst did just start a new job; what better way to ingratiate yourself than to get your new clients into a good stock cheap.

Wait, I am starting to sound like a conspiracy theorist...
