I don't like the Kennard's tone in his comments on the deals with the RBOCs. Federal judge throws it out, he brings it back in. Man do we have an activist bureaucracy. Wish they'd just sit on their butts reading People magazine like they're supposed to.

WSJ speculation (and probably right on the money) is that AT&T made their overtures to the BOCs simply to force the FCC to take another look. Everyone knows (including Armstrong) that the FCC would never want AT&T doing these deals, but if QWST can do them so can he. I believe we are correct in assuming this type of sales activity would only hurt AT&T. So it appears he was simply forcing the issue with the FCC.
