Michael B, the amusing thing is...

People throw the word 'strategic' around as though every business dealing is strategic. DELL and INTC are reportedly partners at the exclusion of CPQ, etc. Rubbish. INTC is investing incredible R&D into technology that does not fit DELL's market. Permit me to rephrase, the next two architectural generations are geared toward vast i/o, compute -- suited toward server technology, not OA desktop applications.

Now, if DELL is entering the server business -- or for that matter, going head-to-head in the engineering desktop space -- we have a new ballgame. *Points are doubled, so's the danger.*

Something tells me that DELL's 'loyalty' in a crowded x86 market isn't the first thing on INTC's mind. ;)
