I'm flabergasted at the results and the details of the conduct of some of the officers and executives of the company.

I won't touch Altris with a twelve foot boat hook, either as an investment (should that even remotely look like possibility in the future) or as a product to market to our customers. Not now, not for a long time, and probably not ever.

There may be nothing to be gained by individual shareholders from class action or Chapter 11, but I think all would be pleased to see certain individuals held accountable in a meaningful and punitive fashion. Otherwise what's to stop this situation from repeating itself the next time they resurface?

I've been following the company's technology for some years, and the stock since the first news of EB. Fortunately for myself, I have lost nothing but time spent on this one. My regrets to others not in this situation.

Thanks Greg & Elliott for the good thoughts. Hasn't been a happy day here in Eugene. Thank God there was one courageous sole who jumped the shooter and took him down even though he was shot twice and remains in critical condition.

As for Altris, I actually feel better. While some like Mr. Watkins will use this chance to kick the company while it's down, I am moderately optimistic about long range prospects. I feel good that Tandem did not bail and I like Mr. Erickson's statements about their meetings with their extensive client base.

While there's no excuse for what happened, Altris will not be the only software company to deal with this issue. There may be deliberate contact involved, but the general issue involves changes in accounting practices. Informix had to make another minor restatement. This from today's Informix's news release "...The revenue restatement prompted by the new software accounting standard will be recognized over about a two-year period as previously this revenue was recognized immediately, treated as reseller revenue rather than end user...."
