Microsoft's Allen reports shares sold

WASHINGTON, May 21 (Reuters) - Microsoft Corp. co-founder Paul Allen told the
Securities and Exchange Commission he has sold over 10 million common shares of the
software giant since mid-February and may sell over 2.0 million more.

In two filings with the federal agency, Allen, of Bellevue, Wash., said he sold 10,820,000
Microsoft shares from February 17 through May 13.

Allen had previously sold 9.215 million shares from February 11 through May 5, SEC filings
showed.

And he has disclosed in two Form 144 filings he may sell more.

He has proposed selling 1.23 million shares worth $107 million on or about May 13, one filing
said, and may sell 1.55 million shares worth $139 million on or about May 14, through
Minneapolis-based Dain Rauscher Inc., another filing said.

Microsoft's latest quarterly filing with the SEC reported 2.46 billion shares outstanding.
