Something like 25% Insiders, 55% Mutual Funds, 20% Individual investors.

The insider control is pretty heavy for a company like this...
that's one great thing about Dell. MF's obviously have a huge
impact. The absolute number of individual investors is actually
quite small... I forget the number but I believe it was well under
10,000??? Anybody???

We have seen about 200M shares (or 30%) of this stock change
hands in the last couple of weeks. Where did it come from??
Likely about 5% of the stock that Day traders are throwing
back and forth.

DS,

You may be correct about the 'punters', but until I joined SI and the DELL thread, I wasn't invested in DELL. My choice had been MSFT due to its performance, which by itself is stellar, but in comparison to DELL a bit 'lacklustre', 18k% vs 26k% over 100 month period. As an 'investor' where would you rather have your money?

With the past performance of DELL, and the current exposure, I would think that many of the Mutual Funds would be investigating DELL and, liking what they see, take a position. I can see nothing in their performance that would indicate a problem, and the expansion worldwide seems to be JIT as is their BTO model. JMHO however.

Regards,

Ken
