You are correct sir....you are once again locked into one provider, at least until your area allows cable competition. It's my understanding that more and more areas are forcing the competition issue. In fact, the city I live in is now fighting TCI, and studying whether to provide their own cable service. I have talked to a number of friends around the country who already have a choice as to who their cable provider is.
