With regards to the Hot Topics list, any new thread makes it there, because its based on the change in posts from the day before, which in the case of a new thread is zero. And good luck, cause I also started a thread, and it quickly got taken over by the inmates, despite repeated requests by me and others in the thread. It's the nature of the beast here at SI. And while I'm sure your intentions are good, I think they are misguided. Quite often, things are brought up within threads that seem off-topic, and end up being of valuable import and interest to the members of the thread. So, please lighten up a little, and let the thread go where it may. I will certainly do my best to keep things relevant, as I'm sure others will. It's the little delinquents that will come and raise hell, not me.
