Hate to say it, but this doesn't look all that bearish to me from a contrarian basis? DAMN! Any thoughts?

"Just before the closing bell, the New York Exchange reported short interest in the month ending May 15 rose 57.6 million shares to a new record of 3.93 billion shares in short position.
On the American Exchange, short interest rose 12.2 million shares, but that was at a record 191.1 million shares. And then the Federal Reserve reported in the week ending May 11, the M-2 money supply fell $6.5 billion."
