Cookies

Generally cookies are used to:

1) Store your preferences for a customizable site like Big Charts

2) Store a "bookmark" required by some sites for navigation the next time you visit

3) Store rotating ads

4) Theoretically could allow malicious entry to your system

Storage of the cookie is on your computer. You need to know the sites you use if you have a concern about #4. Accept from reputable sites and don't from ones for which you have concern.

Hope this helps

What components did you end up ordering for your new computer? BTW if you haven't ordered everything yet you might want to check out post 452, had to dig it out for other purposes and should be of use to you. Prices may be different/cheaper now.

BTW if you wait until ~June 15, should save ~$100 on a PII 300, due to Intel roadmap price reduction.
