No need to get personal.

Coverage is in the eye of the beholder. Everyone needs speed, especially if it is affordable.

Again, MCOM is about _mobile_ computing at good price/performance ratios. Landline speeds are irrelevant. If you are in an MCOM coverage area, there is no better solution at this time. When MCOM's Autobahn arrives, the situation will be even better.

HVN knows this, but I'll repeat it for any newcomers. When Paul Allen bought a controlling interest in MCOM last fall, he put most of MCOM's energies into getting the Autobahn technology out as quickly as possible. He specifically curtailed their marketing and coverage expansions plans - but rest assured that MCOM will crank those areas back up as soon as Autobahn enters beta testing. No dates have been officially announced, but the end of this year is when it is widely expected.

By the time Chip's Autobhan arrives, it's appear snail's pace compared to landline options. Now, go figure!

Which misses the point entirely.

Landline options don't work on a boat out in the middle of Puget Sound. Why should I pay more to a telco for less speed? Given the past 10 years, I seriously doubt that any of the traditional telcos are going to get smart about this.
