People don't buy leading edge 400Mhz machines, businesses do.
400Mhz will be your sub 1000 in 18mos... hardly a freak. Intel's
Willamette will push 1Ghz and be shipping by then. You see,
it never ends... 266 was your high end freak that only businesses
were buying 12 mos ago. By the way, business purchases make
up 70% of the market. SEVENTY PERCENT!

Anyway, Dells Q1 report is proof that they are as close to immune/
bulletproof to current industry woes as anyone could ever hope to
wish for in their wildest of wild dreams. The bears don't seem to
grasp how good this report was considering the current environment.
I've seen the bulls post incredible statistics as to how badly Dell
beat the pants off CPQ, HWP, IBM in the Qtr so I don't need to go
there.

Anyway, will the stock continue to go straight up? What do you mean by straight... how straight... straight up at what rate? At 100%-200% per year?? No, none of us think that. 40% per year, in-line with growth... you bet.

If the stock is pushing $115 by the Q2 announcement date, will you really come back and congratulate everyone... providing links to
historical posts of yours and admitting "how wrong you were"?
Doubtful. You will come back however if the stock tanks won't
you..<ggg>

Gee, "How many people need a 400Mhz machine? People are buying 266Mhz right now" How many threadsters remember this exact same argument I had with steve/hpeace last October about his belief that
no-one needed a 300Mhz machine and everyone was buying 166Mhz machines cause that's all anyone needed... ad nauseum.
