To the thread, I also have e-mailed and left a voice mail message for ASND IR to request a clarification of Mory's comments today. I'll let you know as soon as I hear anything. Dennis Duke confirmed that he heard the same statement -- 15-30% industry growth and 10-20% ASND growth.

If I recall correctly, these figures are much lower and inconsistent with prior statements in the conference calls and by Ashby that sequential growth would be in the high single digits in 1H98 and low teens in 2H98. If Mory's statement is true, the sequential growth would be 2.5%-5%, which doesn't seem logical at all given the strong growth in the Cascade portion of the business and continuing analyst upgrades.

So, I believe the numbers stated today are wrong or incredible low ball numbers, but I want ASND to clarify it. djane

To the thread, I also want to clear up any confusion I may have unintentionally created in my summary about the order of Mory's comments. During the Q&A portion, he made the 15-30% industry and 10-20% ASND growth statement.

After the presentation, some shareholders (including Dennis and I) went up to the front and listened to Mory informally talk to some people. In this conversation, I overheard someone ask him about the above numbers. Mory responded that it was a very conservative estimate and "we learned our lesson" last year. It was not part of the official presentation by Mory to the shareholders.

I do believe it will ultimately be a tempest in a teapot. But, it's important to nail down the truth. If ASND is hit tomorrow, I know that I'll be ready for a nice gift entry point. djane
