-Intel's Otellini did not release the name of the company, but some sources believe one candidate is Standard Micro Corporation, a provider of input/output (I/O) chips for the PC's main circuit board. Opti, a domestic chipset maker, is another likely possibility. Analysts and sources close to both companies say that Via Technologies and Acer Laboratories may also begin to manufacture and sell Pentium II chipsets via licensing arrangements with third parties.-

Intel CEO Barratt was on CNN last night and looked good. He talked about playing in all aspects of the market (including the low end) but mentioned growth into the higher end markets, to paraphrase, "that exhibit less pricing pressure".
