Well my read on it is that Sun doesn't have enough engineers to pick up the pace.

Pico Java is very important for Sun so I'm sure they are pushing very hard to get it out the door.

This is a cool use of Java technology in a number of ways:
*) Java in what appears to be a hard-real-time system.
*) Apparently multiple JVM cores in the single chip.
Any other cool applications of embedded Java hardware out there now?
