Hey where are the Chinese????

Peter:

Good morning:

Your opinions [not your parents' nor your opponents' parents'] are well appreciated.<gg>

I don't know why the Chinese are not here,I wish they were, the more the merrier I say.

All this strong feeling exhibited on this thread is scaring me more than India's nukes..

I thought we were all rather cordial with some occasional low intensity skirmishes.

As for a solution for the problems in the sub continent,I think perhaps it is time for the Trio to think about rejoining th whole from which they came, not by force of course.

RE:All this strong feeling is scaring me..
Wait a minute , most of the scary blather is between two juveniles here, so please stay on. Both zamir and Rational should step back and look at the whole world without the artificial borders, You will see that the world does not turn from white to black all of a sudden if you go north to south from Europe to Africa, It does not turn from Arab/Caucasian to Mongloid at one point nor does it turn from Islam to Buddhism at one manmade line.
Pakistan Kashmir, Tibet and Bhutan are at the 'fault lines' of major religions cultures and races. The road to peace may be by deemphasizing the manmade borders and accepting the fact that the 'others' are not going anywhere. Infact this is the cornerstone of Indian unity, if this is considered giving in to Indian hegemony, tough shit, it is the reality.

<< And, too, I wonder why I don't hear any Chinese arguing with Indians on this thread. Why? >>

My feeling is that the posters on this thread are immigrants from south Asia, particularly from India and one possibly from Pakistan. Indians are known to freely express and dispense their opinions and views. The immigrant Chinese are mostly reticent on this issue unless they are are forced to express their opinion. The native born Chinese have not given much thought to this issue. Indians don't need any encouragement and offer opinions and views gratis. That is because they are a squabbling kind of benign nature. Just to give you an example. Indians are not afraid to express opinion about anything. The Indian literature, esp religious literature, have many humorous instances critical of Hindu Gods. If that is so, why won't the Indians express opinions about anything. Have you ever heard of any critical opinions expressed about their own Gods from other religious groups? That is why I feel that Indian mind is more free than any other mind.
