<<The market discounted slow growth by bringing the stock price down 27% from it's high of August 1997. Anybody waiting for 60s will be standing behind that Krulak guy who is waiting for more earnings disappointments. Well there isn't going to be any.

Craig Barrett said on CNN Money Line last night: "1998 will be one of those slow growth years for Intel" He didn't say they were going to lose or have no growth. >>

No, that already happened. We were supposed to be earning about $4.50+ right now not $3.25 this year, and 3.75 next year! And did I read Merced is not in volume until the END of 1999. Seems like a long wait after a year of this already. (Hopefully a faster ramp up will surprise.) I am waiting with baited breath to see if a PII 400 turns things around in the meantime, and an MMX2 when no one even uses MMX1 much. Blaming it all on Kurlack, who like or not called it right this year, seems like sour grapes. 60's is totally possible before this baby rebounds north as it surely will but when.
