Omegaman,

I was expecting an increase in revenue because they did introduce the NDSforNT and Managewise 2.5 upgrading. I also expected that the Y2K upgrading process had started to generate revenue. That is why I thought there would be greater revenue than was expected - the Wall Street Boys dont have a good understanding of how an I.T. shop thinks and when they will/will not buy. Thats where understanding the industry helps a lot!

As for the NetWare 5 upgrade wait, I agree with you 100%! A lot of companies will simply wait for NetWare 5 to be released (or wait for NOVL to announce that there is a free upgrade window from current IntranetWare to NetWare 5 - which I have been told likely wont happen) before they purchase any more NOS from NOVL. This will reduce revenues for next Q earnings, BUT, this shortfall should be made up by the revenue expected from ZENworks so the net revenue delta from this quarter will be about equal. The earlier the NetWare 5 release this summer, the less this impact.

I still wish NOVL would announce a free upgrade window from IntranetWare to NetWare 5 instead of all these weird and wonderful pormotions. KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID!
