craig,

<< First 1996 was going to be the year Fibre Channel emerged to the forefront. Then it was certainly going to be FC's year in 1997. It just had to take off in 1998 I heard. Now the CEO is saying wait for 1999. >>

I never claimed to be perfect. ;-) I am not Ancor, the company. Nor do I represent FC as an industry. I am just a humble young man looking to learn something and have some fun. I got into Ancor in 96 with hopes that sometime in 97 (not 96) would be the year of FC. It was very clear back then that FC was too tiny to consider for mass adaption. From watching trends, it became very disappointing to see FC being pushed from late 97 to late 98. Now, you are very correct... it appears most large companies are looking to late 98 to early 99 to announce a whole new architecture to the storage line (ie. recent announcements from several large co's). It has been very frustrating, but luckily I have not had to worry financially, so I can afford to wait for an exciting time. As CEO, Ken has been far more straightforward than Steve O was, imho, and I hope he is working hard as nails to get Ancor set up for good times.

<< Again, who is the cocky one? >>

You are, of course. ;-)

all imho
