Steve, Sometimes I wonder what your real agenda is here. Do you have some personal win if the stock price drops? Are you perchance short sebl in addition to being long vntv? It sure sounds like it to me.
Why don't you let the thread know your positions at least.

With respect to the stock being down 3 or 4 points in the last two weeks.....have you checked out any other stocks lately? The last several days have not been exactly pretty in the tech sector. Or have you somehow managed to overlook this fact? (as usual) Have you checked out vntv stock' price lately? It's not exactly going UP. In the last month vntv's gone from 39.75 to 27. With the exception of the last several days sebl has been in a trading range for a while and is not down 3 or 4 points if you exclude the last two days. You should try to learn from TD's messages to you about volume also. This is not exactly heavy volume which would be present if there was a significant reason for a price drop such as an upcoming downgrade from Soundview. Everyone knows sebl is facing challenges. What...Soundview just heard about the merger?

So what's with this garbage about customer challenges, Soundview lowering numbers, SEBL 99 being late, etc. Why don't you at least put a disclaimer on your messages saying..."I'm probably short this stock and I'm definitely long vntv so take that into account when you reading anything I write." But then again, that would defeat your purpose, wouldn't it. You are definitely an example of objectivity at its finest.

There's a lot of skepticism that Siebel 99 will actually be ready in Q4 (and what will its robustness be?).

Siebel does have a big challenge to meet a Q4 delivery of Siebel 99. However, I really don't think that it *matters* if it's delivered in Q4 or Q199. Siebel defined a very clear direction for the sebl/scop product set and gave the market delivery dates. By doing so, the sales organization can now focus on bringing in new business without dealing with nagging questions about sebl/scop product sets. They'll sell Siebel 99. Period.

I'm not concerned about the 'robustness' of S'99. It will be based on the S'98 architecture which is, by all accounts, very solid (I don't have S'98 in production yet, but have it in test). If sebl *is* forced to reduce the scope of S'99 to bring it to market, I expect that some of the scop migration utilities will be pushed out.
