I do not see where this debate of "who shot John" has much significance, guys and gals. The principle must define the nature and sources of its income to the accountant, and set the accounting philosophy. The accountant can't know the business of the company any better than the company teaches it. I have no axe to grind for accounting firms, believe me. But, IMOH the buck stops at the company management.
