You know, I don't think thats it. I agree Y2K is affecting ERP,SFA etc. but with SCM I'm not so sure. Right now, many customers feel a need to get SCM implemented in house due to competitive concerns... all the computer makers are afraid of Dell, etc. Its very similar to the desperation we had a few years ago in ERP when customers saw IBM unravelling, they just feel they need to get this in and mgmt is willing to add resources to do it.

The problem with SCM is that its such a major business shift in terms of process in your organization, its a real hindrance to these sales. Theres a critical mass where all the vendors need to participate, then you can finally have the party. This makes earnings pretty choppy and I suspect its hard to manage for the CFO.
