see the old COBOL geeks.

Things are heating up. Gary North has his own gas well.

Showed a guy analyzing SEC reports, half stonewalling not saying anything,
half dismal.

Japan largest creditor nation for 7th straight yr

Japan remained the world's largest creditor nation for the
seventh straight year in 1997 as its overseas assets continued to
swell, a government report said Friday.
Japan's net external assets at the end of 1997 -- those held by
the Japanese government and businesses abroad minus their liabilities
-- stood at 124,587 billion yen ($929.7 billion, up 20.5% from a year
earlier, the report said.
