Well MINE is an open pit operation, doubt anyone was in the shaft as they stopped working on it quite awhile back. Since no deep pits had been dug, I'll assume that unless some buildings fell, nobody was hurt at the mine site.

But on the other hand, wouldn't it be delightful if the earthquake shook some loose gold from the mountain sides on to the mine site. Open pit hell! We gonna just walk around picking up nuggets and sucking up the finer dust with a bunch of shop vacs! HA!

Really I shouldn't have, I pray nobody was hurt.
