For what it's worth, I remember the fallout from the Intuit and Checkfree squabble. I was in the process of upgrading my Quicken software that I was (and still am) using with the Checkfree service when I realized that there was not a single reference to Checkfree in the software or documentation. After a brief panic, it turned out that Intuit had deleted all visible references to Checkfree from their product. I called Intuit's customer support line where I learned that the Checkfree service was still supported but you had to call Intuit to learn how to configure it. Obviously the relationship between the two companies was pretty adversarial at that time. Soon after the issue was resolved and Checkfree was buying Intuit's bill pay service.
