Imatron Receives Multiple Ultrafast CT Scanner Order From MedCath Inc.; First Two Installations Planned for the Arizona Heart Institute and Heart Hospital of Austin SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 26, 1998-- Imatron Inc. (Nasdaq: IMAT) said today that it has received an initial order for two Ultrafast CT(R) scanners from MedCath Inc., a health service provider which develops heart hospitals and specialized cardiac care facilities in the United States. The purchase agreement between the companies, which is in effect until December 31, 2001, also provides for additional sales of future Ultrafast CT scanning systems. The first scanner of the order will ship to the Arizona Heart Institute, Phoenix, Arizona, in the current quarter, with the second delivery to The Heart Hospital of Austin, Texas, to follow in third quarter 1998.
