Mike,

Yup, ya' just gotta luv the system!

I believe she was inside for perhaps six years. Many of the good people of CoCo County who were familiar with the case were not at all pleased with her release from juvenile custody, most thinking that she hadn't been sufficiently punished by such a short incarceration.

Me? I think that someone who proves capable of such an act should be kept inside and never let loose on an unsuspecting society. Whether this incarceration includes punishment, rehabilitation, psychotherapy, bigscreen TV, weight rooms, or or whatever, really makes me no nevermind. Harsh? Maybe. All I know is that person will not have the means or opportunity to do it again, at least not on the outside.

They made a highly fictionalized TV movie about the case. It starred Tori Spelling and that kid from Christy, Kelli something.
