re: over the long haul, to be less than stellar. I disagree. On stocks like intc, its the only way to trade. follow overbought/oversold.

** OT **
John, very appropriate comments regarding PSFT. Just consider how the stock behaved following the Red Pepper acquisition, and where it is now. The stock went down to roughly $16 (split adjusted). It's trading at around $42 now. Oh, the time frame: around 13 months!

I think what we're seeing now is a combination of the CEO predicting 55%-65% growth for the remainder of the year (down from 65% - 75%), a change in accounting standards for software companies (which will have no effect on PSFT), and a horrible current quarter for MANU (my goodness!)

TTFN,
CTC

I said the long haul.
The 90's have been anything but normal interms of stock performance.

But I will agree with you.
For the last 8 years, heck go back to 1982, Buying dips in general has been a very sucessful stratagy.
I could start realing off exception, but that would defeat the point.

The question is, how long will this abnormal trend last?

Jim
