It's not shorting in the sense that you and I could do it. It's "naked shorting". The MMs don't actually "borrow" shares from anybody, they just fill buy orders and then go looking for cheaper shares to cover themselves. It happens all the time. For a really good discussion of what I am talking about read Post # 777 by Brodway on the TGSK SI thread. Actually, a number of posts by him, Flightlessbird and TheNazz go into good detail on this; we are on the verge of a truly classic short squeeeze over there and this is how it all came to pass. Again, I'm not saying it's happening here.

Yes, you can put stop losses on OTCs and yes, you will get creamed if you do that while the issue is volatile.
