Ed, thanks for posting, that was a very interesting and informative letter.

Thanks, Ed. I appreciate your faithfulness in hanging in there with GPGI. So, they are using a resin ion exchange. This sounds good to me. It sort of validates what MXAM has been saying. I wish that these two companies would join forces at this point. It would be a good combination and would save 50% on the production facility costs.
In my opinion, they are underestimating the cost of installing a facility capable of volume processing. I believe MXAM is now facing up to that fact in outlining their proposal for a custom processing plant at Gila Bend. This is exactly what Mike Wendell said would be required months ago. Why invent the wheel twice?

Ed, let me also send my thanks for forwarding that letter. Even those of us who are convinced still get nervous sometimes! - but it has been and still is a buying oppt'y and so I have nibbled......it's not always easy to be patient, but let's be anyway. IMHO this is the year we will see important gains. And BTW, let me [once again] cast a vote for partnerships and/or collaborations as have been recently called for by others [can you say "win-win"?]......Scott

Ed,

I used to be a GPGI fan, however, I am not holding any share right now. Since you are the only person I know really know what is going on at GPGI's lab, I have a few questions for you:

1. The ion-exchange resin can only recover the soluble Pt or Au complexes from the aqueous solutions. GPGI has to completely dissolve Pt into this solution before it can be extracted by the ion-exchange resin. If GPGI can dissolve it why can't they recover and detect it by using the conventional assay method? Why can't you patent your secret catalyst and process? You can make much more money without risk.

2. What are the interfering ions in the solution enhance the Pt signal in the assay? Do you (or GPGI) know such potential problem?

3. Did you(or GPGI) spike a known concentration of Pt into your sample to determine if there is enhancement? This is a very standard and easy method.

4. How do you (or GPGI) eliminate such interference, to determine the true Pt concentration, if there is any?

I feel GPGI was stalled at R&D stage since they announced building pilot/production plant. I have never seen any company can run production without completing R&D and pilot studies. May be Jack can comment on this..he is a chemical engineer, too. Good luck.

Sincerely,
Wade

Ed, you can certainly tell me it's none of my business,if you want to, but how did you come to possess a letter written by Twiford to Les Reid?
I bought my first stock from Les, and maintained contact with him until 2 years ago, in a phone conversation, I must have pissed him off, as I haven't heard from him since. That's about the time he went negative on GPGI.
Anyway, Thanks for posting the letter, must be the breakthrough that Jensen referred to in , I believe, the last PR.

Ed, some time back you said you might be a buyer at about these levels. What do you think?
