Doug and Dragonfly:

Actually, the current Loral/China controversy has
given a very misleading impression of LOR's motivation
for its China involvement. If you listen to all shows
on TV you get the impression that LOR was just dying to
use Chinese launchers. In fact, as I see it, Bernard
Schwartz was essentially giving a little bit of business
to the Chinese in order to open up the Chinese market
to GSTRF. Imagine 1 billion Chinese with portable
phones (and later satellite data access). I bet that
the Communists would have a real tough time keeping
such a population in line.

In fact, Bernard Scwhartz was probably one of the
greatest agents of subversion against the Communist
party rule in China. However, try to explain that to
all the numbskulls in Congress!

Best wishes,

Bernard Levy

Hey, the fact is, politics will likely be a main determinant of Loral's stock price over the near term.

So, whaddya think? We were up yesterday and up a tiny bit today. Im in denial of the possibility that we might be turning around-- I can see no reason why we shouldn't be drifting down. I even got in for some more and that's usually a sure sign that we're headed south.

I need to hear it, Doug! Tell me its going down some more!

Doug, quiet! No politics are allowed here. Against my vote, the decision was that these political discussions needed to be conducted elsewhere! Some portion of SI where non-important issues are allowed to be discussed.
