Bob: Mark is wrong about Sybase and has no way knowing what is happening at companies he has no association with. I do respect, and appreciate, Mr. Finger's technical and business knowledge. No one should be making speculations about practices at competitors to put Informix in a better light.

As an Informix investor, IMO this restatement by Informix has put them 2 steps back on the road to credibility with Wall Street. Isn't there an SEC investigation pending or underway related to Informix? This can't make them look good.

I was honestly hoping for a $10+ stock price in June. I don't think this will happen until September now. Even if the Q2 numbers are great, it makes one wonder if you need to wait a another month to know for sure.

"...what would be a good way to dealing with this situation?"
IMO the restatement shows:
1. The firm determination to correct what had been done wrong, so IFMX can have a new start.

2. It shows the confident they have toward IFMX future by recognize short term revenue loss caused by bad Acct practice( or errors?).

3. It explains why the stock declined after Q rpt. Whether IFMX did the restatement or not, it seems the MMs were aware of the problem but probably waiting for detailed number. The restatement should clear the uncertainty. As a result, I expect no further price decline from here.
Technically, it should retest the 6 support after break 7. If not, it
shows the restatement having positive impact.

Dexmeier is the new CFO but doesn't he come to IFMX with some baggage from his other brief corporate stays?Maybe he's the fall guy rather than Mr.F. I hope they clarify this accounting problem...how does ORCL skirt this accounting issue?
