Monty, Of course YOU are 100% correct. It is a shame that what the public sees for the most part on television or in the papers are some people who hold themselves out as experts for hire as advisors and strategists, when they haven't a clue of what the facts are. . I have never met anyone who really has a grasp of what Trader Status truly is, and that even includes the experts on CNBC Power Lunch who field questions during telephone call-ins. Most of THEM give incorrect answers "as facts", -- but to the credit of a couple I've seen, they have stated on the air that "they don't know the answer". . Ted Tesser, CPA who wrote a book, is knowledgeable on the subject, as is Michael Holt, CPA, and I suppose with all due humility, myself (g) . I see from some of your recent postings here that you are a tax practitioner and seem very familiar with the ins and outs of the laws. Are you a Stock Trader too? . Colin
